Shared Hosting servers have now been upgraded to cPanel 11. VPS and Dedicated upgrades are ongoing, clients on such packages are welcome to upgrade themselves by following these steps:

1. Login to WHM.
2. Scroll to cPanel and select the bottom link, upgrade to latest version.
3. On the current page now showing select the text link upgrade settings.
4. Set the update manager to Automatic (CURRENT tree)
5. Save the changed setting.
6. Click Upgrade to latest version link and then the button on the relative page.

The update will take 40-60 Minutes.

After the update has taken place you may wish to update the skin to x3 for users on your server.

This is done by selecting

Themes >> x Skin Migration Wizard.

From here you can change all users and packages to x3.

At some point in April we hope to announce our new Windows VPS hosting to add to our portfolio of linux VPS. We hope that Windows VPS sales will be as sucessful as the Linux.

A date has not yet been confirmed nor any specifications set. These will become available nearer the time.

Pricing is also unknown.

VPS = Virtual Private Server

This type of hosting is basically a partition of a dedicated server and will work in the same way. It has its own CPU and RAM resources etc. VPS is about half way between reseller and dedicated servers. It has reseller features and dedicated backbone at a price to suit.

Most hosts will allow you to have root access with VPS so you can install what you wish on it.

VPS gives advantages such as:

More Resources for your site(s)
Gives an idea of what a managed server is like
Gives you more freedom and Reseller or shared

This is a step that a webmaster should take if they are stretching reseller limits but cannot afford to buy a dedicated server.
