If you want to improve your websites ranking on search engines, and who doesn’t, then you can do this by increasing the number of backlinks to your website. Search engines list sites by the number and quality of other websites link to the site being ranked. By increasing the amount of links to your website over time you will see an increase in rank.

Here are a few ways that you can aquire back links:

1. If you are on forums, in your signature add a link to your website.
2. Submit your website to as many website directories as you can, these can be free or paid. A paid link directory may allow you to deep link.

Deep Linking

Deep linking is submitting a link that will navigate to a page of your website. For example this could be www.wantingawebsite.com/hosting/dedicated.php. Free directories may not allow deep linking however submitting these where you can will help your pagerank.

3. If you have friends with websites, then ask them to link to yours. If you wish you can link to them in return
4. With a rapid amount of people now starting blogs try and get your link listed on one.
5. Getting your link on a site with related content will help.
6. Ensure that your website has good and interesting content. This will encourage others to link to your website.
7. If you know how, create an interesting feature such as a script for other users to add to their sites.
8. Leave the URL of your website on guestbooks.
9. Submit articles that contain your link.
